A. A sponsor for His Hands for Mexico is someone like you who has made the decision to invest in the life of a child in need in our Mexico program. A sponsor's regular financial gifts enables a child to receive help with schooling. This includes a school uniform, shoes, and school registration fees. In addition, each sponsored child's family receives assistance with food. Finally our partners in Mexico, Franco and Barby, are able to share the love of Jesus with these children and families. As you can see, sponsorship changes the life of a child!
A. If you are interested in sponsoring a child in the His Hands for Mexico program, you can visit our Children in Need page. Once on this page, you can click on a child's photo and you will be directed to a sight that will walk you through the process of sponsorship via Paypal or check. Soon after completing this process, you will receive an email from the coordinator for the His Hands for Mexico program with information about the child, information on how to correspond with the child if you choose and a welcome packet.
If you choose to sponsor a child in the Mexico program, the cost is $20.00 per month.
A. His Hands Support Ministries is unique in that 100% of the financial gifts given by sponsors go to the sponsored child. Each of our country programs is headed by a volunteer coordinator who is personally invested in that country. In addition, they work closely with our partners in country. It is our goal as a ministry to support these partners in their work.
A. The sponsorship fees are due on the first of the month. You may choose to make your sponsorship donations monthly, quarterly, twice a year or once a year. When you start your sponsorship you will receive a statement showing your sponsorship pledge for the remainder of the calendar year and then in January an annual notice will be sent out for the next year.
A. No. Once a child has been sponsored, we will mark the child as "sponsored" on the website and leave their photo on the site for a few more weeks. After that, their photo is removed to make it easier for the remaining children on the website to be seen and, hopefully, chosen for sponsorship.
A. His Hands for Mexico sends a team to Mexico approximately once a year. Generally, the team goes in the Spring.
A. Yes. There is an application process for those who are interested in joining one of our work teams. Every effort will be made for sponsors on our teams to meet their sponsored child but please be aware that we cannot promise this. If you are interested in applying for one of our teams, please contact us at info@hishandsformexico.org.
A. You may send a financial gift to your child through His Hands for Mexico. If it is for a specific need, such as shoes, be sure to include a note specifying who and what the amount is for.
A. As soon as we find out that a child is no longer attending school and it appears that they will not return, we will inform you and discuss how you would like to proceed. Often times when this happens, a sponsor will decide to sponsor another child instead.
A. Yes. Once you decide to sponsor a child, you will receive information on how to send letters to your sponsor child. All correspondence is filtered through our program coordinator in order to protect children and sponsors. Sponsored children write at least one letter a year to their sponsors. We do encourage children to respond to their sponsors, however, we cannot guarantee that they will do so.
A. It is our hope that a sponsor is able to sponsor a child until they graduate from high school. However,we do understand that sometimes situations change and people are unable to continue with sponsorship. You may discontinue your sponsorship at any time. When a sponsor is unable to continue with sponsorship, we ask that they contact as info@hishandsformexico.org.
Please understand that a sponsored child's circumstances may change, too. For example, sometimes families move beyond the reach of our program and children no longer have the opportunity to participate. We will inform you as quickly as possible if any such circumstance affects the child you sponsor.
