Children:

Pastors:
His Hands for India works alongside our Indian partner, Pastor SJ Michael, who is the pastor of the Church of Bethlehem. Pastor Michael and his church are reaching out into their community to provide help and hope to the children in the area through their after school program. Children attending this program not only receive much-needed tutoring from Sunday School teachers and older students, but they also receive a meal. His Hands for India's participation in this work is done to fulfill our goal as a ministry, which is:
"to support and encourage the work of our brothers and sisters in Christ in the country of India and to support the ministries of their churches, giving special emphasis to helping with their children's ministries and in supporting children to enable them to attend school. We strive to demonstrate the love of Christ through works of service to these churches as well as to other Christian missions and missionaries in the country of India as we have opportunity - to be God's "hands and feet" and His servants to His children in India."
100% of your sponsorship payment goes toward meeting the needs of the children and the seniors - none of it goes toward the administrative expenses of this program here in the United States.
Why India? Why should we help?
"Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke? Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter - when you see the naked, to clothe him, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood? Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard...and if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday." Isaiah 58: 6-8, 10
Home to over 1 billion people, India is the second-most populated country in the world. Just under half of the population in India is under age 15 and about 70% of the people live in rural areas. Illiteracy in the rural areas is high, as is malnutrition, with India being ranked second in the world of the number of children suffering from malnutrition (Bangladesh is number 1). UN estimates put the number of deaths of Indian children under age 5 to 2.1 million each year - which equals the death of 4 children every minute! Most of these deaths are from preventable illnesses such as diarrhea, typhoid, malaria and pneumonia as well as malnutrition. As a result, one out of every 11 children in India will not live to see their 5th birthday.
His Hands for India was founded in 2010 when a partnership was formed with Pastor SJ Michael and his church, the Church of Bethlehem, in Southern India. The Church of Bethlehem is helping the children in this area through their after school program. Children attending this program not only receive much-needed tutoring from Sunday School teachers and older students, but they also receive a meal. Children in the program will also receive assistance with their regular school tuition, uniform and books. For a monthly fee of just $10.00 you can sponsor a needy Indian child. Your sponsorship will help send them to school and help change their life!
100% of your sponsorship payment goes to the child in need and to their school & materials fees, as well as the cost of their participation in the after school program - none of it goes toward the administrative expenses of this program here in the United States.
